smarty
Aiden's birthday is next month; he will be two year old! I know its recommended that kids under 2 watch as little tv as possible, but there are 2 shows that Aiden loves to watch, Superwhy and Word World...that along with his alpabite (also has number crunch, shapes for snacks, and color crunch) by charles reasoner and flashcards that he got courtesy of his great grandparents...Aiden can read uppercase letters.

big boy
Aiden figured out how to work his bubble gun. When he saw the bubbles coming out after he pulled the trigger, he flashed a wide grin and (very proudly) said, "I did it!" He's also been trying to jump for awhile and as of yesterday (9/29/09) he actually gets about 2 inches off the ground. now i'm just waiting for new bumps and bruises to appear. the joys of having an active lil boy, =)

new friend
Ever since we started taking Aiden to daycare, he's been particulary friendly with this cute little girl named Ellaina who is nearly a year older than him. Whenever they see each other, their eyes just light up and they drop what they're doing to run and play together. It's really sweet; Jd and I often refer to her as Aiden's girlfriend, lol. Our babysitter, Tracey, mentioned that he and another little boy (Jayden) have gotten to be friends and now constantly run around together, each doing whatever the other one does. It's cute seeing him play with other kids. At first i was kind of iffy about day care, but now I'm glad we send him because of how social he is and how it's affected his development and growth. Our best couple friends have a son who is 6 weeks younger than Aiden and while he is just as smart and capable as Aiden, Aiden seems to be developing faster, which we attribute to daycare. There he sees other kids his size doing stuff and it seems to...motivate him to try that much harder to learn new things.
On a side note, I thought we were past drooling, but lately he seems to drool constantly, as if he were teething again. tried putting a bib on him the other day but he wouldn'd have any of that. everything i put one on him, he yanked it off and ran away, almost as if he were saying, 'that's for babies, I'm a bog boy', lol

water baby!
this weekend I took Aiden swimming. he absolutely loved it. he had no fear whatsoever. damn near gave me a heart attack when he nearly jumped back in AFTER i dried him off and took his water wings off. i'm thinking of putting him in swim lessons next summer.

pickpocket?
Yesterday Aiden saw me get some change out of my purse to give to him to put in his piggy bank (he loves putting money in there; he'll drop the coins in one at a time a clap after each coin falls in)...this morning, i caught him trying to dig in my purse for more change!

This past weekend...
Aiden said his first sentence! it was " I want that!" figures. lol....he said it at Jd's cousin's restaraunt first. He said it a 2nd time whiel reaching for the riding mower when Jd had finished cutting the grass. actually he tried running to the mower and i pulled him back since it was still super warm and he started pouting and cried, ' i want that'...so jd took him for a ride around the yard. he loved it and was very upset when it was time to go inside. he nearly gave me a heart attack the other night when jd was out with some friends....he had been sleeping for a couple of hours and i was getting tired so i went to bed, the next thing i know, i hear him screaming his head off so i rush to his room to see what's wrong...that lil butthead was sitting up in his bed, laughing and talking to his stuffed animals, having a grand old time. i told him it was too early (if life) for him to be driving me crazy like that. of course he just laughed at me, but he did go back to sleep pretty easily after that.
Mother's Day
For mothers day I got Twilight and the soundtrack. I still want the book. I was kinda surprised, but then Jd tends to remeber what movies I want / have interest in watching at random times. so it's a nice surprise when he brings home something I mentioned 6 months earlier. also, at my aunt's house, Aiden picked a red hibiscus flower for me. My sweet boy...of course he did tear it apart (come on now, he's a toddler and he's a boy...they tend to be destructive) but he stills gets credit for the sweet gesture.
